Reverend Darius Edward Moore was born and spent most of his early childhood in Newark, New Jersey. He’s the second born of 4 children and only son of Lady Roxie Moore and the late Bishop Ellis E. Moore.
Under his father’s ministry and leadership, Darius was licensed to minister in 2005 and ordained as an elder in 2006. During his tenure there, he established Spirit & Truth, a young adult praise team, which ministered all over NC and various cities across the eastern US.
Darius graduated from Apex School of Theology in 2013 earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology. He then earned his Master’s Degree in Divinity from Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C. in 2017. During his time there, he achieved and maintained an honor of distinction and was selected to join the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi. Darius accredits two unique theologies studied at Shaw U, Black Liberation and Public Theology, as the catalyst for his passion toward the expansion of ministry outside of the church and into the community using music and creative methods.
In 2015, Darius along with his wife Yolanda, joined the Berean Experience of Raleigh, N.C. Together they serve as youth leaders over the BeFree Teen Ministry. In addition, Darius is a part of Berean’s Praise & Worship Team. In 2017, he was ordained as a Reverend by the authority of the Baptist Association.
Darius currently serves central and northeastern NC as a Family Recruitment Specialist for Children’s Home Society. This is the state’s oldest and largest adoption and foster care agency. Through this experience, Darius enjoys interacting with members of the community to discuss unique ways to expand their family.
Apart from ministry, Darius loves to share his time with his wife Dr. Yolanda S.W. Moore, in addition to traveling, cooking, and fellowshipping with family and friends. He loves music, appreciates all genres, and enjoys creating and singing his own.
