Jonathon Emmett Young, Sr. was born in Harlem, NY and raised in Brooklyn. He had been a member of Berean Baptist Church in Brooklyn since the age of 14 and has served in various roles in the youth ministry, including member of the Voices of Praise teen choir, the Healing ministry and as a teacher in the summer program. Sensing a call on his life into ministry, Jonathon attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC where he served as Junior Class president and other positions in campus ministry. Jonathon graduated from Shaw with a degree in Business Administration and has also studied at Duke University’s School of Divinity and Liberty University online. Since graduating from Shaw, Jonathon has spent several years working in youth ministry, going from assistant to lead teacher of the children’s church at Upper Room COGIC and also assisting with Bible studies at Shaw as part of Upper Room’s Campus Ministry. After a few years, Jonathon returned ‘home’ to Berean- this time to the Raleigh location. It wasn’t long before he stepped back in his role in youth ministry, joining the children’s church team, specializing in the tweens age group.

Jonathon currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his four children Victoria, Jonathon, Jr., Thaddeus and Lauren.
